Show to benefit horse center worker

Vail Meadows Equestrian Center is hosting a barrel racing and poles competition Saturday to benefit the riding center's injured barn manager and trainer.

Micki Kohler suffered severe head injuries and broken bones from an April 28 riding accident. The horse show is free, and there will be a silent auction and two 50/50 raffles with proceeds going to Ms. Kohler.

The competition through the Maumee Bay Buckle Series will begin at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, and all area riders are welcome. The center is at 6118 Cedar Point Rd.

First Federal Bank branches in Oregon, Perrysburg, and Maumee also are collecting checks for the Micki Kohler Benefit Fund.
