Whitmer's Holley piles up 324 rushing yards in victory

The Whitmer Panthers had a Holley, jolly time of it in a rain-drenched Homecoming game at Memorial Stadium Friday night, and the visiting Findlay Trojans were left in the wake of a 56-25 loss in Three Rivers Athletic Conference football.

Whitmer (7-0, 4-0 TRAC), Ohio’s sixth-ranked Division I team, topped Findlay 619-341 in total offense in winning its 25th straight regular-season game. READ MORE. PHOTO GALLERY.


Bryan Golden Bears rally to beat Patrick Henry Patriots

A dozen years of disappointment came to an end for Bryan on Friday night before a rain-soaked home crowd.The Golden Bears halted a 12-game losing skid to Northwest Ohio Athletic League rival Patrick Henry with a dramatic 32-28 comeback victory in a game between the league’s top two teams.

The Bears (7-0, 5-0 NWOAL) trailed the Patriots 28-13 in the fourth quarter before quarterback Austin Schimmoeller directed Bryan on three scoring drives during the final five minutes of the game.

Schimmoeller capped the game-winning drive with a 12-yard keeper with 1:04 remaining to give the Bears their first lead since the first quarter when they led 7-0 after Schimmoeller broke free for an 88-yard touchdown run. READ MORE   PHOTO GALLERY


Perrysburg shakes slow start, sets up duel with Napoleon

With their game well in hand against Northview on Friday, the minds of the Perrysburg coaching staff begin drifting toward a league showdown with Napoleon next week.

Leading the Wildcats by 37 points midway through the third quarter during a dismally cold and wet night, up in the dry press box the Yellow Jackets’ assistants kept tabs on Napoleon's eventual double-overtime win against Anthony Wayne.

Perrysburg, which actually trailed Northview 8-7 after one quarter, went on to dismantle the Wildcats 51-8 by scoring 44 unanswered points. READ MORE. PHOTO GALLERY.
