More than an inch of rain fell overnight at Toledo Express Airport, and additional heavy rain was forecast for later today.
The National Weather Service reported 1.2 inches at the airport between 8 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Saturday. Most of the rain fell between midnight and 1 a.m. and between 4 and 6 a.m.
Partly sunny conditions developed later in the morning. But forecasters said heavy rain was likely to return by evening.
No flood alerts were posted as of midday in northwest Ohio, but a flood warning was in effect in the Fort Wayne, Ind., area, where the weather service said up to 6 inches of rain fell Friday and early today on the north side of the city during thunderstorms
