    Nearly 100 people attended Sylvania’s annual Patriot Day event Friday, Sept. 11, 2015 at River Centre Park to honor the about 3,000 people who died as a result of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. The "Tribute to the Fallen" ceremony at the Heroes in Action event at the civic mall in Toledo, on Sept. 11, 2015.     Toledo-Lucas County Public Library celebrated the digitization of the diary of longtime Toledoan Elizabeth Frankowski, who as a teenager wrote of her family’s experience in a Soviet labor camp during World War II. The celebration took place at the West Toledo branch library Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015 and featured guests U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur and Toledo Councilman Tom Waniewski.

    Lightning delays totaling three hours and 28 minutes turned the evening into an absurd comedy of sorts before the game was suspended with the Rockets leading Stony Brook 16-7 at halftime Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015 at the Glass Bowl. The game will not be resumed, as Stony Brook continued with its plans to fly home to New York.
