    The state of Ohio is planning on investing and additional $88 million into Ohio's state parks, which includes the Lonz Winery, which closed in 2000 after a porch collapse killed one person and injured others.     A vigil was held for Elaina Steinfurth at Federal and Leonard Streets in Toledo, Ohio, on Monday, June 2, 2014. The 18-month-old's decomposed remains were found Sept. 5. Her mother, Angela Steinfurth, and her then-boyfriend, Steven King II, are serving life sentences for her murder.

    Area dog advocates say the plight of “pit-bull”-type dogs in Lucas County has greatly improved over the last few years, but more progress is needed. In 2012, Ohio altered a 25-year-old law that deemed all “pit bull”-type dogs as inherently vicious, resulting in the deaths of thousands of canines each year.
