A patient at a state-run psychiatric hospital in South Toledo was reported missing after he apparently walked from the emergency room at Medical College of Ohio Hospitals on Sunday, authorities said.
David Slover, 27, a patient at Northcoast Behavioral Healthcare, 930 South Detroit Ave., was taken by a staff member to the hospital about 1:30 p.m. for an unidentified illness. He was last seen in the emergency room about 4:20 p.m., authorities said.
Authorities said Mr. Slover is unstable and has two outstanding felony warrants for endangering/contributing to the delinquency of minors.
Mr. Slover should have been escorted to the hospital by law enforcement officials but was not, Sam Hibbs, spokesman for the Ohio Department of Mental Health, said.
Because of confidentiality issues, Mr. Hibbs could not say why Mr. Slover was at the psychiatric facility, how long he had been there, or why he went to the hospital.
Mr. Slover is white, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, and weighs 209 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes, and tattoos all over his body. He was last seen wearing black jeans and white tennis shoes, police said.
