A water main break yesterday in West Toledo left 20 households in and near the 3800 block of Clare Ridge Drive without water for several hours, authorities said.
The break occurred about 6:15 p.m. when temperature changes apparently made the ground shift near 3860 Clare Ridge, causing the six-inch main to break, Amy Linder, manager of water distribution for the city of Toledo, said.
A four-member city crew, which was dispatched to the scene about 7:30 p.m., expected to fix the problem and restore water supply to all affected customers early today, she said.
