Toledo Municipal Court has more than $58,000 in unclaimed bond money belonging to people whose cases were settled before Jan. 1, 2000, and Clerk of Court Margaret Thurber wants to return the cash.
The bond money will be refunded in the clerk's office on the first floor of the Municipal Court building, 555 North Erie St., until March 1.
After that date, the money may be claimed in the clerk's office, but the refund will be mailed.
Those owed the money will have to show their bond receipt and a valid piece of picture identification.
Those without bond receipts may get a lost bond slip from the clerk's office.
Each person owed money was mailed a letter, but those who moved and did not get a letter may look at the list of unclaimed bailors at the clerk's office, Mrs. Thurber said.
