A Toledo man was sentenced to 24 years in prison yesterday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court for sexually abusing a 4-year-old girl.
Robert Kuhn, 37, of the 2700 block of Tremainsville Road, was sentenced by Judge Frederick McDonald to six years for each of four rape convictions. He ordered that the sentences be served consecutively. Kuhn could have received 40 years in prison.
Lori Olender, an assistant county prosecutor, said Kuhn sexually abused the girl four times between October and January. "I wish more of them would get that kind of sentence," Ms. Olender said.
The maternal grandmother of the victim said the girl has been affected emotionally by the abuse.
"She wakes up crying if she is touched so we have to sing gently to wake her up," the woman said in a statement to the judge. "No one knows what an emotional impact this heinous crime will have on [her] in the future."
