Driver accused of hitting man deliberately with SUV

A Toledo man was arraigned yesterday on charges that he intentionally struck a man with his sport utility vehicle last week in a parking lot at 5020 Lewis Ave.

Michael E. Dorsett, 31, of 1338 Rollins Rd., was charged with one count of felonious assault. He was being held last night in the Lucas County jail in lieu of a $15,000 bond ordered by Judge Amy J. Berling in Toledo Municipal Court.

Mike Laffey, 36, of Toledo, was treated at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center for head injuries after the incident July 3. Police said he and Mr. Dorsett exchanged words and as Mr. Laffey walked away, Mr. Dorsett hit him with his SUV.
