Hussein S. Eltatawy yesterday waived a hearing in Lucas County Common Pleas Court for extradition to Pennsylvania, where he is wanted on five criminal charges.
Mr. Eltatawy, 27, of 4351 Secor Rd., was picked up last month on a shoplifting charge and detained by authorities because of problems with his citizen status.
Mr. Eltatawy, whose country of birth is Tajikistan, agreed to be returned to West Reading, Pa., where he failed to appear in court in July. Judge Judith Lanzinger accepted the waiver and ordered him to be held in the Lucas County jail until he can be picked up by authorities. He is being held in lieu of $150,000 bond.
Mr. Eltatawy was arrested Nov. 18 at the Meijer, 1500 East Alexis Rd., for shoplifting about $75 in merchandise. He pleaded no contest in Toledo Municipal Court.
