ORANGEBURG, S.C. - Toledo's Dana Corp. plans to build a $30 million plant to make axles for BMW's South Carolina operations, the Orangeburg Times and Democrat reported yesterday.
"Dana Corporation's announcement demonstrates that BMW's impact on the state continues to be phenomenal," Gov. Jim Hodges said.
Company officials were unavailable for comment yesterday evening, and a state Commerce Department official said no information was available.
The newspaper said the plant would have as many as 200 employees.
