A historic moment

City Councilman Peter Ujvagi, left, fire Chief Mike Bell, and Lucas County Commissioner Sandy Isen- berg unveil an Ohio Historical Marker commemorating Toledo's first fire station near the Firefighters Memorial in Chub DeWolfe Park.

The marker recognizes the role of the department in Toledo history. The Fire Department, organized in 1837, erected its first fire station at Cherry Street and Eagle Lane.
