Arraignment set for Toledo man charged in infant shaking death

A Toledo man who is accused of shaking to death a 14-month-old infant will be arraigned Jan. 10 in Lucas County Common Pleas Court.

Brandon Batdorf, 20, of 5315 Lewis Ave., Lot 4, was indicted on one count each of endangering children and involuntary manslaughter.

The arraignment will be held before Judge James Jensen.

He is accused in the shaken-baby death of Collin Fowler.

The baby died Dec. 15 in St. Vincent Medical Center, two days after he was found unconscious in Mr. Batdorf's mobile home.

Mr. Batdorf reportedly told police that he shook the infant with both hands for 10 to 15 seconds.

The infant's mother, Brittnee Fowler, 17, lived at the mobile home but was away at work when the child was injured. Mr. Batdorf is being held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $150,000 bond.
