Senate approves 2nd Henry County judge

COLUMBUS - The Ohio Senate yesterday unanimously approved a bill to add a second judge to the Henry County Common Pleas Court, to be elected in 2004 and take office in January, 2005.

The bill will return to the House for agreement with amendments, and then on to Gov. Bob Taft for his signature to make it law.

The cost of the second judge is estimated at $170,000 a year to county and state taxpayers.

County officials have said a second judge is needed because of increased workload.
