Findlay woman charged with vehicular homicide

FINDLAY — A Findlay woman was charged with vehicular homicide following an investigation of a crash that killed an Arcadia woman.

Denise Buckwalter, 40, faces up to six months in jail if convicted of the first-degree misdemeanor. The Sept. 18 crash killed Angela Shellhammer, 48.

According to the Hancock County sheriff's department, Ms. Buckwalter was westbound on County Road 7 when she failed to yield at a stop sign at County Road 330. Ms. Shellhammer was southbound on County Road 330.

Ms. Buckwalter, who pleaded not guilty, will appear Oct. 15 in Findlay Municipal Court for a pretrial hearing.
