Results slip at La-Z-Boy

MONROE - La-Z-Boy Inc. reported second-quarter profits yesterday of $15.2 million, or 28 cents a share, down 47 percent with $28.7 million, or 50 cents a share, for the same period a year ago.

The nation's No. 2 furniture maker said it had sales for the quarter, which ended Oct. 25, of $511 million, down 9 per cent from the $563.6 million for the period a year ago.

The company also announced a quarterly cash dividend yesterday of 10 cents a share, payable Dec. 10 to shareholders of record Nov. 28.
