As the Lagrange Village Council prepares for its annual pre-Lenten paczki sale, volunteers will meet at 9 a.m. today in the former library building, 3101 Lagrange St., to make final plans for a paczki-eating contest Feb. 24, Fat Tuesday.

The council will hold its 14th annual sale of the Polish pastry from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 22; from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Feb. 23, and from 5:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 24 in the old library. Paczki, made by Bakery Unlimited on Secor Road, will be available with prune or raisin fillings or with raspberry, custard, lemon, or apricot fillings, and sugar.
