Man who aided in fake kidnapping is sentenced

Bianney Rosales, who helped a Toledo man stage a false kidnapping to extort $350,000 from his parents, was sentenced to 10 months in prison yesterday in U.S. District Court.

Rosales, 25, whose last known address was 933 West State Line Rd., pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud in January for his role in the hoax.

Last week, Anthony E. Bald|win was sentenced to about 41/2 years in prison for three counts of wire fraud and one count of conspiracy. Police said Baldwin, 34, staged his kidnapping and left a ransom note demanding $350,000 from his parents, James and Rhoda Baldwin, who own Carmel's Mexican Restaurant at 2947 Tremainsville Road.

Mr. and Mrs. Baldwin have said they don't believe their son committed the fake kidnapping.
