Jan. 24 trial set for manaccused in Bowling Green slaying

BOWLING GREEN The case of a Bowling Green man charged with killing his live-in girlfriend has been scheduled for jury trial Jan. 24 in Wood County Common Pleas Court.

William Ball, 35, appeared before Judge Reeve Kelsey yesterday for a pretrial hearing where the trial date was set. He is charged with murder in connection with the Feb. 29 slaying of Michelle Descant, 24, at the South Summit Street home they shared.

According to Bowling Green police, Mr. Ball called police and confessed to the murder. He is being held in the Wood County jail on $750,000 bond.
