Bowling Green man given 90 days in pellet-gun shooting

BOWLING GREEN - A Bowling Green man was sentenced yesterday to 90 days in the Wood County jail for shooting a Grand Rapids woman in the eye with a pellet gun.

Derek Justice, 20, pleaded guilty in January to aggravated assault in connection with the July, 2003, wounding of Elisabeth Roller, 20, who lost sight in her right eye.

Wood County Common Pleas Judge Reeve Kelsey placed Justice on community control for three years and ordered him to perform 300 hours of community service. He also ordered that Justice have no contact with Ms. Roller.
