Trial is scheduled in Fremont homicide case

FREMONT - The capital murder trial of Jeffrey Zenowicz has been delayed from next month until July.

Judge Harry Sargeant, Jr., rescheduled Mr. Zenowicz's trial, which had been set to begin April 11, during a pretrial hearing yesterday in Sandusky County Common Pleas Court.

Mr. Zenowicz, 33, is charged with drowning Claudia Fonseca, 40, and slashing the throat of Leslie Slone, 30, in Ms. Fonseca's Fremont-area home in July, 2004.

He is charged with nine felonies, including aggravated murder, and faces a possible death sentence if convicted.

Jury selection is scheduled to begin July 13, with testimony set to start July 18.
