The Boys & Girls Clubs of Toledo joined with more than 3,400 other organizations across the country in celebrating National Boys & Girls Club Week last week. The three local clubs in East and South Toledo and in the Old West End focused on community outreach. The organization has been a part of Toledo for 113 years and serves more than 7,000 children ages 6 to 18. Brandon Ellis, a Scott High School junior and also a junior staff member of the Homer Hanham Club at North Detroit Avenue and Monroe Street, works on a self-portrait in the art room of the club. Greg Harris, a unit director of the club, watches the likeness take shape.
