July trial set for driver charged in child s death

A trial date was scheduled yesterday for an Ottawa County woman who is accused of killing a 5-year-old Oregon boy after he exited an Oregon school bus.

Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Jack Zouhary scheduled a trial date of July 20 for Angelique M. Dipman, 27, of Clay Township. She is charged with aggravated vehicular homicide for striking Dameatrius McCreary on March 24 with her car after he stepped off the bus and was attempting to cross Starr Avenue.

Ms. Dipman told police that she was distracted by her ringing cell phone when the accident occurred.
