Lima man imprisoned for attempted assaults
LIMA, Ohio A Lima man who attempted to assault two women in downtown Lima in November was sentenced yesterday to 10 years imprisonment.
Charles McDaniel, 18, pleaded guilty last month to two counts of attempted rape. As part of an agreement with prosecutors, four counts of telephone harassment were dismissed at sentencing.
Allen County Common Pleas Court Judge Richard Warren also designated McDaniel, who was 17 at the time of the crimes, as a sexual predator.
Police at the time were warning women to walk in pairs and be wary of a man who would approach women, ask what time it was, and then assault them.
