Ex-Perrysburg mayor sued over loan default

BOWLING GREEN The former mayor of Perrysburg has been sued by Fifth Third Bank for defaulting on a $36,747 loan made to him and his former company, Cornish Containers Inc. of Maumee.

In a complaint filed this week in Wood County Common Pleas Court, Fifth Third said Jody Holbrook owes it the balance plus $529 in interest. Paul Giha, attorney for Mr. Holbrook, filed a response stating his client did not contest the claim.

Last month, Mr. Holbrook abruptly resigned as Perrysburg mayor and reportedly moved to Florida. Last week, he was accused in a civil lawsuit filed in Lucas County Common Pleas Court of failing to pay medical insurance premiums for employees at Cornish Containers.
