West Toledo man accepts plea deal in holdup spree

A West Toledo man entered into a plea agreement yesterday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court for a string of holdups at restaurants, pharmacies, and a gas station.

Khalik J. Reed, 34, of 1303 South Cove Blvd., Apt. 7, pleaded no contest to two counts of aggravated robbery and four counts of robbery. He was found guilty by Judge James Bates, who set a sentencing hearing for March 23. Reed could be sentenced to 55 years.

Reed was indicted on six counts of aggravated robbery, nine counts of robbery, and one count of carrying a concealed weapon in the holdups that occurred in November. He was arrested Nov. 30.

The robberies included a Cottage Inn Pizza, two Rite Aid pharmacies, a BP gas station, and a KFC restaurant.
