Toledo Mayor Carty Finkbeiner kicked off the second model block effort of his new administration in the Auburndale neighborhood yesterday.
City crews will clean alleys, mow vacant lots, issue nuisance orders, and help beautify the area, the mayor said.
Residents are being asked to keep their yards clean, paint and repair their property if needed, and report criminal activity.
The model block is the area bounded by Monroe and Macomber streets and Upton and Auburn avenues, including Jermain Park. The mayor s first model block effort took place in Toledo s old south end.
