The Toledo restaurant chain known for more than a decade as Cafe Marie will change its name to Scrambler Marie s over the next two years to better reflect its emphasis on breakfast and lunch.
Shain Buerk, company president, said the chain has changed its name internally but is moving slowly on switching business signs so as not to confuse or alienate its customer base. Next week the restaurant at 507 West Dussel Dr. in Maumee will be first locally to have a new sign.
The 12-store chain began in Toledo in 1990 with one Cafe Marie and has since expanded to Columbus, where it was known as Scrambler s.
