BOWLING GREEN A 17-year-old Bowling Green boy pleaded guilty yesterday to a reduced charge of delinquency in connection with disorderly conduct for his role in staging a kidnapping at a Wendy s restaurant here in January.
The boy and a 16-year-old each had been charged with delinquency in connection with inducing panic after a woman waiting in line at Wendy s on Jan. 26 called 911 on her cellular phone to report seeing a boy whose hands were tied and mouth gagged stumble out of the trunk of a car.
When police tracked down the boys later that night, the boys said they had done it as a joke.
The 16-year-old is scheduled to go on trial May 15 in Juvenile Court.
