Among the nation s leading black-owned automotive dealers is Jaguar Land Rover Toledo on West Central Avenue in Sylvania Township, according to a list released yesterday by Black Enterprise magazine.
The dealership, owned by Walter Douglas and his son, Walter Edmond Douglas, Jr., of the Detroit suburb of Southfield, was opened just west of King Road in December, 2005.
It had $14 million in gross revenues in 2006, ranking it No. 99 among auto dealers nationally, according to Black Enterprise. It was the only northwest Ohio firm identified in the magazine s top listings.
