A VETERAN TAKES THE FIELD

SPT hens01p 07/31/07 The Blade/Dave Zapotosky Location: Toledo, Ohio Caption: Ella Grace Scott, 89, a resident of West Park Place senior living community in Toledo had the honor of throwing out the ceremonial first pitch before the start of the Mud Hens game against Richmond Tuesday afternoon. She said she is a long time baseball fan who saw games at old Swayne Field. (There were a number of senior citizens in attendance Tuesday although there is apparently no official name for the promotion.) Summary: Toledo Mud Hens vs Richmond Braves baseball at Fifth Third Field. The Hens beat the Braves 8-4. Ella Grace Scott, 89, a resident of West Park Place senior living community in Toledo, throws the ceremonial first pitch before the start of the Mud Hens game against the Richmond Braves. Ms. Grace said she is a lifelong baseball fan who used to watch the Hens play at the old Swayne Field. The Braves beat the Hens, 8-4, at Fifth Third Field yesterday.
