Two Toledo men were indicted yesterday by a Lucas County grand jury on murder charges in the shooting death of a man during a robbery Aug. 15.
Keishon Midcalf, 26, and Keith McCoy, 19, both of 5406 Fleet Rd., were each charged with one count of murder with a firearm specification and felonious assault with a firearm specification.
The grand jury also indicted Midcalf on one count each of menacing by stalking and having a weapon while under disability, both with firearm specifications.
Both men were being held in the county jail.
Toledo police said Midcalf shot Lorenzo Brown, 28, of 2667 Tremainsville Rd. once in the chest about 3 a.m. after he and two others robbed Brown at gunpoint.
Brown died that day in Toledo Hospital.
The accused gunman was seen by police walking quickly from the victim's address, where the incident occurred, police said.
The suspect ignored several police orders to stop and instead ran west through an apartment complex, police said.
He then tossed the gun, which police later found, at one of the apartments, hitting an air conditioner, police said.
Officers shocked Midcalf twice with a Taser, but he continued to defy orders, according to police.
Officers then used open-hand stuns and knee stuns to subdue Midcalf, who was taken into custody.
