Toledo man arraigned for gun, drugs near his children

A Toledo man charged with having a loaded 45-caliber pistol and marijuana in his North End home, readily accessible to his three young children, was arraigned yesterday in Toledo Municipal Court.

Nicholas McNair, 28, of 1830 Ottawa Cove Drive, faces one count of child endangering and three drug-related charges. He is free on $850 bond.

Police said the weapon and drugs were stored in a location easily accessible to Mr. McNair s children, ages 8, 5, and 3, according to court records.

In addition to child endangering, Mr. McNair was charged with drug trafficking, a felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana, both misdemeanors.

Child endangering is a first-degree misdemeanor with a maximum penalty upon conviction of six months in jail, a $1,000 fine, or both.
