Cone Street man convicted of sexual assault of girl, 7

A Toledo man was convicted yesterday of the sexual assault of a 7-year-old girl after a two-day trial in Lucas County Common Pleas Court.

Vincent King, 34, of 1624 Cone St. was found guilty of one count each of rape and gross sexual imposition. Judge Frederick McDonald will sentence King on Jan. 3.

Because the victim is younger than 10 years old, King faces life in prison for the rape conviction and up to five years for the gross sexual imposition conviction.

During the trial, several witnesses testified, including the victim. A jury of six men and six women deliberated for about 90 minutes before finding him guilty on both counts.

The incident occurred Dec. 23 at the Cone Street residence, authorities said.
