U.S. fines local steel firm over safety violations

Ohio Pickling and Processing LLC, of Toledo, has been cited for several safety violations and fined $27,450 by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

The firm, at 1149 Campbell St., was cited for serious violations, including unsanitary conditions, lack of safety guard rails on standard fixtures, and failure to provide safety equipment such as chemical resistant suits and splash aprons, and inadequate safety training.
