Toledo Municipal Court cuts hours to save money
The public hours for Toledo Municipal Court will be cut by two hours to help save money, Presiding Judge Tim Kuhlman said yesterday.
The court s new hours will be from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., effective June 2. The current hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Finkbeiner administration earlier this month said it would cut costs at the municipal court by using part-time security next year rather than full-time Lucas County sheriff s deputies.
That plan was not implemented this year after months of debate among the court s judges, City Council, and the mayor s office.
The judges will continue to oppose that change, Judge Kuhlman said.
There are currently 23 deputies and that number will be reduced by one, effective June 2, Judge Kuhlman said.
