Indictment accuses man of threatening judge

BOWLING GREEN A Fremont man was indicted by a Wood County grand jury this week on charges he threatened to hurt a judge, a prosecutor, and a crime victim.

Ryan Scheerer, 34, was charged with three counts of retaliation, a third-degree felony, for allegedly threatening Bowling Green Municipal Court Judge Mark Reddin. He also was charged for allegedly threatening Assistant City Prosecutor Steve Callejas, and Jamie Thompson.

Mr. Scheerer, who was in the county jail when the threats were made, between June 19 and July 7, is to be arraigned Friday before Common Pleas Judge Alan Mayberry.
