Perrysburg Township man pleads guilty to theft

BOWLING GREEN A Perrysburg Township man is to be sentenced Sept. 8 for stealing as much as $70,000 from his former employer.

Michael Forwerck, 34, pleaded guilty yesterday to theft and unauthorized use of a company computer, both fourth-degree felonies punishable by up to 18 months in prison and a $5,000 fine. Bill Connelly, an assistant Wood County prosecutor, said Forwerck embezzled money from Clarke Power Products on Glenwood Road in Perrysburg Township between July, 2005, and January.

Mr. Connelly said Forwerck set up a dummy account through which he received payments for products shipped to customers. He would then list those orders as warranty parts with no payment required for Clarke Power Products records.

County Common Pleas Judge Reeve Kelsey permitted Forwerck to remain free on bond pending his sentencing.
