COLUMBUS The Ohio Controlling Board approved grants of about $5 million each yesterday to Xunlight Corp., Toledo, and to The Andersons Inc., Maumee, for technology projects. Both previously had approvals from the state s Third Frontier Commission.
Xunlight, which is developing solar panels, is working with four other firms to bring its research into production. It was approved for $4.975 million to support the engineering research. The firm is run by two University of Toledo professors.
The Andersons, with four other parties, is to receive $5 million to help market granule technology for fertilizers and pesticides.
