FINDLAY - A bicyclist was killed Monday night in a crash that also involved two cars on icy and snow-covered Bright Road in the city, authorities said.
Benito Molina, Jr., 56, of Findlay, the bicyclist who was trapped under one of the cars for a time, was pronounced dead at the scene, Findlay police said.
The crash occurred about 9:15 p.m. in the 2100 block of Bright.
Mr. Molina was riding a bicycle north in the 2100 block of Bright in the curb lane about
9:15 p.m. when a car driven by Chelsey Peterson, 18, also of Findlay, started to catch up with him. Ms. Peterson saw the bicyclist at the last minute, braked hard, and swerved to the right to avoid collision. The car's right front side struck the bicycle, knocking it and its rider to the pavement, police said.
Then a car driven behind the Peterson car by Amanda Wolford, 24, also of Findlay, swerved to the right to avoid a collision without seeing the bicycle or its rider. The Wolford car then struck the Peterson car in the rear and drove over the bicycle and its rider, police said.
