A Feb. 23 trial date was set yesterday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court for James T. Lane, who is charged with the shooting death of another man outside the Weiler Homes in East Toledo.
Mr. Lane, 26, of 43 Bronson Ave., is charged with two alternate counts of murder, each with a firearm specification. He is in the county jail in lieu of a $250,000 bond. If convicted, he faces up to life in prison.
He is accused of killing Clyde Goetz, 53, of 614 Earl St., who was shot at least once in the chest. His body was found July 12 in the 1000 block of Sisson Drive, police said.
