A North Toledo man accused of beating a 60-year-old man in the face was indicted yesterday by a Lucas County grand jury.
William Saunders, 39, of 731 Ashwood Ave. is charged with two alternate counts of felonious assault. He remains in the county jail in lieu of a $25,000 bond.
Police went to an alley in the 2200 block of North Detroit Avenue about 12:20 a.m. Nov. 27 on a report of a man being beaten.
A witness reported that the victim, Harris Brown, swung at the suspect, who then dragged Mr. Brown outside and hit him with a snow shovel, police said.
The attack broke several of Mr. Brown's teeth and caused bleeding from the mouth, authorities said.
