1 treated after fire at Swanton house

SWANTON - A house fire yesterday in Swanton caused an estimated $60,000 in damage and sent an occupant to the hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation, authorities said.

The fire at 207 Valleywoods Drive was reported about 2:40 a.m. in an attached garage, and was brought under control in 30 minutes, Swanton Fire Chief James Guy said.

An occupant of the house was treated at St. Luke's Hospital, Chief Guy said. He declined to release the person's name.

The owner of the property is David Ballash, according to Fulton County property records.

Chief Guy said the cause of the fire remains under investigation, but foul play is not suspected.
