A Temperance man died yesterday after he was hurt in a multivehicle crash at Shoreland and Suder avenues and Benore Road, Toledo police said.
Leslie White, 56, of Crabb Road died in surgery in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Sgt. Jason Brown said.
Mr. White's car was southbound on Benore shortly before 3 p.m. when it ran the red light at Suder, hitting a car that was northbound on Suder which, in turn, was pushed into a northbound car, Sergeant Brown said.
Mr. White's car then crossed a traffic island, knocking down a pole holding up traffic lights, entered a parking lot at the southeast corner of the intersection, and struck an unoccupied building, causing minor damage to the facade, the sergeant said.
A man and a woman were in each of the other cars. Their names were unavailable. They were taken to St. Vincent with minor injuries, Sergeant Brown said.
