Owens Community College has formed a partnership that will allow dental hygiene students to provide services to underserved children.
The college s collaboration with the Dental Center of Northwest Ohio will enable second-year students in the dental hygiene program to get experience giving dental cleanings, topical fluoride treatments, dental sealants, and X-rays for area children.
Beth Tronolone, Owens chairman of dental hygiene, said the program is a win-win because students get valuable experience and children get needed dental services.
