Two local women have been appointed to state committees by Gov. Ted Strickland.
Julia Bates of Toledo will serve on the Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Committee, while Ann Frahm of Maumee was appointed to the Maternity and Newborn Advisory Council.
Ms. Bates, who has served as Lucas County prosecutor since 1997, joins the committee that helps coordinate investigations of organized criminal activity.
Ms. Frahm, the clinical nurse manager of perinatal services at St. Charles Mercy Hospital in Oregon, will help advise and consult with Ohio s health director on maternity and newborn-health issues.
