SWANTON Two men from Maine and a man from Montana are facing felony drug charges after three pounds of BC Bud, one of the most expensive and potent types of marijuana, was seized by troopers during a traffic stop on the Ohio Turnpike in Lucas County, authorities said.
Troopers on Friday stopped a westbound Toyota Sequoia for a registration violation and a Volvo XC70 for a following-too-closely violation about four miles west of the Airport Highway exit.
Charles Clark, 24, of Bozeman, Mont., driver of the Toyota, was charged with possession of drugs and trafficking in drugs, both third-degree felonies.
The other driver, Aaron Gile, 19, of Gorham, Maine, and his passenger, Will Clark, 20, of Windham, Maine, were each charged with complicity, a third-degree felony. The suspects were being held in the Lucas County jail.
The marijuana was valued at more than $135,000.
BC Bud marijuana is cultivated in British Columbia and is one of the most potent strains of cannabis, troopers said. A drug dog alerted troopers to the contents of the Toyota, including the three pounds of marijuana and paraphernalia.
