Lola is named top dog in Lucas County photo contest

Lola, a Greater Swiss mountain dog, was the winner of Lucas County s Pick of the Litter photo contest yesterday.

Auditor Anita Lopez and Dog Warden Tom Skeldon awarded the Number 1 dog tag to Lola and her owner, Dr. Eugene Izsak, a physician from Ottawa Hills.

Dr. Izsak s photo of Lola beat out more than 300 entries in cuteness and creativity, Lori Lamb, the auditor s public information director, said.

The contest is held to raise awareness of the county s dog license program, she said. A $25 tag is required of any dog at least 3 months old. Current dog tags expire Jan. 31.
