Monroe, Blissfield, Dundee are flooded

BLADE STAFF

DUNDEE - Flood warnings are in effect for the River Raisin communities of Monroe, Dundee, and Blissfield.

The Raisin crested at almost a foot above flood stage yesterday morning in Monroe.

In Dundee, where an emergency has been declared, it is expected to crest at two feet above flood stage this morning.

The M-50 bridge in Dundee, which carries traffic over the River Raisin, is closed because of high water, the Michigan Department of Transportation announced yesterday. Traffic is being detoured to U.S. 23, Ida West and Dixon roads, and Lewis Avenue. The closure is expected to last 48 hours.

In Blissfield, the Raisin is 2 1/2 feet above flood stage.
